Corvid-19 advice

We know that we're not going to be able to get together for a while but you guys have a head start on so many others - you know how to be a good friend, be kind, careful, respectful, considerate, courageous and help others and we're sure that you'll be polishing up all those skills over the next few weeks. We'll be back, as soon as we can be. Take care everybody.

Important Update - Covid-19

As you may have seen in the news there have been quite a few updates from the Prime Minister who has said that everyone in the UK should now avoid non-essential travel and contact with others.

Following on from these updates the Scouting Movement have taken action as well, which we must follow for the safety of the young people and adults who we help support.

Suspension of face-to-face activities

Given this guidance, all face-to-face Scout meetings, activities and events must be suspended from today. This suspension applies to young people and adults, and will be until further notice.

Events

Given the latest Government guidance, we have had to postpone two of the largest events for Worting, the following events:

  • Great Worting Duck Race 2020 (postponed until further notice)

  • Worting Family day (We will monitor the situation and make a formal decision nearer the time)

We will be continuing to update you about other events in each section that have been cancelled.

Keeping you updated

The Government have now committed to daily briefings. The Scouting Movement will keep us up-to-date and we will pass these updates on to you all when they come in.

Scouting at home

We are planning to share activities for young people to do at home with their parents if families are faced with self-isolation. We will be communicating more about this soon.

Section meeting updates - These will be updated via email and facebook pages to let you know what will be happening each week.

All of the leaders will be working hard to keep you all updated and providing things for the all the sections to do whilst we are in this period of suspension.

Please keep an eye on the Worting website as updates will also be posted on there www.wortingscouts.org.uk

Thank you for your understanding at this uncertain time, if you have any questions please feel free to get in contact with your section leader.

Sorry folks, we have to stop all our Scouting events and activities for now but we won't disappear and neither will your Scouting spirit.

The leader team.
